Conquer Womanhood at Every Age

Barbara Dolak

Have you found your Zen yet? Do we ever really find it, or is life an ongoing maze of adventure and confusion? Don't get me wrong, being a woman is a blessing. Not only can we do everything a man can do (arguably better in some cases), we can have sex anytime we want, adjust our height as needed, paint our faces without judgment and we get to create life!  Nonetheless, being the amazing women that we are doesn’t come without challenges at every age. Here are some of the biggest struggles and tips for conquering womanhood to the fullest in your 20’s, 30’s and 40’s.
1. FOMO - the fear of missing out leads you to say “yes” to too many things. Often times you end up burning the candle at both ends = always exhausted.
2. Settling for the safe career rather than the perfect one
3. Checking off all the boxes just to say you’ve checked them. Life isn’t a one-size-fits-all list, so don’t make decisions based on what you think you “should” do.
4. Valuing things over experiences and people
5. Comparing yourself to others.  Forget what other people are doing, focus on becoming the best version of yourself that you can be.
6. Holding onto bad relationships.  These times are tricky because you’re constantly evolving and figuring out exactly who you are as a person. Trust your instincts, you’ll build much more positive and meaningful relationships.
THANKFUL 30’s1. Feed your soul - if you aren’t sure what your passion is, try new things until you feel inspired.
2. Travel more
3. Worry less - realize that you will be okay, no matter what.
4. “No” is a complete sentence - once you are confident saying no, it’s easier to make decisions for yourself instead of others.
5. Save for the unexpected
6. Don’t be afraid of taking risks, you can still change
7. Embrace change. Embrace change. Embrace change.
8. Nobody (still) knows what they’re doing, get used to it
9. Don’t spend time with people who don’t treat you well
FANTASTIC 40’s1. Listen to your body - a good night’s sleep can change everything.
2. Learn to to let go - don’t waste time worrying and moaning about stuff you have no control over.
3. You know yourself best and care what others think least; the combination of those two lead to a great sense of freedom to just be you.
4. You look a hell of a lot better because you’ve got more money than you did at 20!
5. Knowledge is power - experience is knowledge. Embrace that.
6. Everything you see depends on how you look at it.
